Scuba in Aspen Colorado

Always wanted to try SCUBA diving or water polo? Now here’s your chance. The Aspen Parks & Recreation Department would like to invite you to come on out and drop in for a game of water polo or try out that SCUBA driving you’ve always wanted to try.

Water polo is coed and drop in is on Thursdays from 7:30- close. Cost is entrance plus 3 dollars.

Scuba Sundays are from 6pm to close.

SCUBA skills update/review(for certified divers)

If it’s been a while since your last dive you should consider an update class. We jump into the pool and review all of those sometimes rusty, but very important SCUBA skills required for safe and comfortable diving. We practice all the techniques you learned in your certification course. You feel more prepared for your next dive vacation after this class.

Duration 2hrs.

Equipment: rent/ own buoyancy compensator, regulator, gauges and air cylinder or demo new equipment.

Own: mask, snorkel & fins.

Professional PADI instruction.

Cost $75 /pp.

Discover SCUBA Class

If you’ve always wanted to try SCUBA diving, now is your chance. The discover SCUBA is a program designed to let anyone over the age of 8 years old to try SCUBA diving before signing up for a class. This gives you the opportunity to get into the pool with SCUBA gear, learn some basic skills and the use of the equipment and blow bubbles underwater. A majority of the time will be spent in the water, there will be a short orientation before the pool dive.

Duration 1 ½ - 2hrs.

Equipment: rent buoyancy compensator, regulator, gauges and air cylinder, mask, snorkel fins.

Professional PADI instruction.

Cost $35 /pp.

SASY Program

The Supplied Air Snorkeling for Youth is for those from 5-10 years old who would like to blow bubbles just like the adults, but are too young for SCUBA. Designed to use different techniques to comfortable snorkel at the surface of the water. Children will get an opportunity to learn and practice in the SASY units as well a traditional snorkeling techniques. The SASY unit is very similar to the buoyancy compensator, regulator, and air cylinder worn by SCUBA divers with the difference being that the unit is smaller and has substantial foam floatation which prevents the case of submerging.

Duration 1 ½ – 2hrs.

Use of mask, snorkel fins, if child has personal equipment they are comfortable with we encourage them to bring it.

Equipment: use of SASY unit.

Professional PADI instruction.

Cost $35 /pp.

Note: Parents/ guardians must sign a liability waiver.
