Saturday, May 18, 2008 - Criterium format road bike race on closed city streets of Aspen. Start 9am at corner of Monarch & Hyman.
Cost is $20 for pre-registration and $30 for day of registration. You can register online at www.active.com, in person at the Aspen Recreation Center or the Red Brick Recreation Center, or by calling 970-920-5140. Pre-registration on active.com ends Friday May16th at Noon, at 5:00pm Friday May 16th at the Red Brick Recreation Department and Saturday May 17th at 5:00pm at the Aspen Recreation Center.

A Culinary Rock n’ Roll Event To Benefit The Children’s Health Foundation June 14 - Belly Up, Aspen
The Children’s Health Foundation (CHF) and Food & Wine present Greenalicious a culinary rock and roll event to benefit Lunch for Life and the Wholesome Wave Foundation. Last year’s CHF fundraiser was the hot ticket item during Food &Wine raising the roof of Belly Up with a stellar party that raised the consciousness of the Aspen community.
This year, CHF’s second annual fete, Greenalicious, on Saturday June 14th at Belly Up promises to once again be center stage during the Food and Wine weekend with highlights including Best of the Stones live concert by Hollywood Stones hailed by NBC “the premiere Rolling Stones Tribute Band,” succulent cocktails, and a homegrown pure & simple dinner prepared by Chef Michel Nischan. Aspen Club Triathlon

The Aspen Club will be holding their first Indoor Triathlon from May 12-17. This is a great way to kick off the triathlon season! Each participant will race against 3 other entrants in a 10 minute swim, 30 minute bike ride followed by a 20 minute run.
This is a great event for someone new to triathlon competition, or a great warm up for seasoned triathlete pros. The entry fee is $40 and proceeds will benefit 8 local charities.

America’s Uphill Race on Aspen Mountain

7:00 A.M., March 15, 2008, Aspen Mountain, Aspen, Colorado
This uphill race is a favorite for Aspen, Colorado locals. The event attracts hundreds of racers every year, the race brings together snowshoers, runners, Nordic skiers, telemark skiers, and Randonee skiers for a 2.5 mile trek up Aspen Mountain.
$30 Pre-registration. Available till 5pm March 14 at the Ute Mountaineer or online till 2pm Mountain time. For online registration, click here. $40 Race Day Registration. Available from 6-6:30am at the race start - the gondola ticket office. Cost includes raffle, awards, and t-shirt. $1 of each registration will be donated to Mountain Rescue Aspen.
The America’s Uphill starts at the base of Little Nell and climbs 3267 feet up the Aspen Mountain ski area finishing at the Sundeck Restaurant at an elevation of 11,212 feet. The course follows Little Nell to the Bell Mountain Chair and then up Bingo Slot to Spar Gulch. The long steep climb up Spar continues to the base of Ajax Express (Lift 3). From here, there’s a small reprieve on Tortilla Flats before the climb begins again in earnest. At this point, the race follows a maze of trails starting up Deer Park to Pussyfoot, Silverbell, and Easy Chair, finally topping out at the Sundeck. Inspection of the course prior to race day is recommended.
