Basalt Approves Master Growth Plan

October 24, 2007

On Tuesday night the Basalt Town Council approved the 2007 Basalt Master Plan by a vote of 4-2.

The Master Plan establishes the boundaries for urban growth for both East and West Basalt. The plan creates the expansion of up to 1,998 new residential units that could be granted building permits within Basalt, Colorado over the next five years.

This represents the maximum potential permits under the plan for undeveloped lots and parcels inside the boundaries of the growth plan. To put the scope of this growth into perspective, there were 1,388 residential properties listed inside the Basalt city limits in 2004.
