Aspen Events - ESPN Winter X Games 12

This year (2008) will be the ESPN Winter X Games 12. Aspen Colorado has been hosting the Winter Games for 9 consecutive years, making it the longest time that any venue has held such a large-scale sporting event. Since Aspen is seen as a great place to hold the Winter X Games, extreme sports such as snowboarding, snowmobiling and skiing are on the agenda for this next year’s events.

There is also live coverage from these events, thanks to ESPN and ABC. Nielson ratings showed a substantial increase in home viewers last year, which was much to the surprise of many. Because of this, more of all of the ESPN cable affiliates will be hosting the Winter X Games 12 on their channels for the home viewers. Those that are there to compete are vying for medals and cash money prizes. It is free to the spectators to attend the Winter X Games 12, although there are tickets that must be handed out in order to enter the grounds. The ESPN Winter X Games 12 is a great time for Winter Game enthusiasts to come out and show their support for the Extreme Winter Games, as well as for their favorite competitors.
