OVER 100 LOCAL ARTISTS FEATURED IN THE ASPEN ART MUSEUM 2007 ROARING FORK OPEN

Aspen Art Museum 2007 Roaring Fork OpenASPEN, COLORADO — The Aspen Art Museum is pleased to announce that over one hundred local artists will participate in its 2007 Roaring Fork Open exhibition. The biannual exhibition will be on view in the AAM’s Lower Gallery from October 25 - November 25, 2007. A free public reception for the RFO will be held on Thursday, October 25, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.

For almost thirty years, the Aspen Art Museum has hosted its biennial Roaring Fork Open exhibition. The exhibition is open to all artists residing in the valley from Aspen to Glenwood Springs. Once again, museum Director and Chief Curator Heidi Zuckerman Jacobson is meeting with each participant to select a work for inclusion. The 2007 Roaring Fork Open is but one example of the Aspen Art Museum’s ongoing investment in sustaining a vibrant arts community in the Roaring Fork Valley.

This year the AAM will also feature a cell phone audio tour for the RFO. Exhibiting artists will each have the opportunity to record a sixty-second audio commentary to familiarize gallery visitors with their artwork and artistic practice. Local telephone access numbers have been added!

Local artists also have an opportunity to show slides and discuss their work at the museum during an AAM Artist Breakfast event Thursday, November 8, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Spots are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
