ASPEN ART MUSEUM ANNOUNCES MAJOR DONOR GIFT THAT UNDERWRITES ADMISSION TO THE MUSEUM FOR 10-YEARS. BEGINNING MAY 19 ADMISSION TO THE ASPEN ART MUSEUM WILL BE FREE.

Beginning May 19, 2008, the Aspen Art Museum (AAM) is pleased to announce that admission to the AAM will be free courtesy of a generous gift from John and Amy Phelan, who are collectors of contemporary art with homes in New York City and Aspen. John and Amy are members of the AAM’s National Council and John is a member of the AAM’s Board of Trustees.

The Phelan gift will underwrite admissions at the AAM for the next ten years allowing unprecedented access to its exhibitions and public programs. The museum plans to celebrate this gift with a community-wide event on May 29, 2008. This event, which will also be free and open to the public, will kick-off the museum’s “Summer of Free Art” and will feature local band Waste Deep.
