Enjoy a guiltless Thanksgiving by joining the Aspen Recreation Center in a Trim and Spin Thanksgiving Day! The Aspen Recreation Center will be open Thanksgiving morning from 8:00am to 12:00pm for friends and family to enjoy swimming, ice skating, and working out before your Thanksgiving Feast. From 8:30am to 9:30am participate in a Spin and Abs class to pre-burn Thanksgiving dinner, take a lap around the ice skating rink, or get in a quick swim before the days festivities begin. Enjoy the wide array of amenities the Aspen Recreation Center has to offer no matter what the weather forecast looks like today, tomorrow, or next week.

Bring a Friend for Free!
The Aspen Recreation Department would like to offer Aspen Recreation FUN Pass Holders the opportunity to bring one friend for free every Friday from November 9th through December 14th. Pass holders and a friend can enjoy use of the Aspen Recreation Center and Red Brick Recreation Center amenities including; indoor rock climbing, swimming, fitness classes, ice skating, yoga and much more!

Not a Recreation FUN Pass Holder? Consider purchasing a fun pass before December 14th to receive these amazing discounts! 25% Off an Annual Pass; 15% Off a 6 Month Pass; 10% Off a 20 Punch Pass. FREE Sledding
The Aspen Recreation Center offers FREE sledding and FREE sled rental 7 days a week from 7:00am to 8:00pm. Sleds can be rented at the Aspen Recreation Center front desk and used on the famous “Whoa Nelly” Sledding Hill behind the facility.

Challenge Aspen Uphill Race and Walk-Up-Athon

Challenge Aspen Uphill EventASPEN, Colorado - Challenge Aspen and The Children’s Hospital Immunodeficiency Program of Denver (CHIP) will be beneficiaries of the 12th Annual “One From The Heart Charity Uphill Race and Walk-Up-Athon” on Buttermilk Mountain, on Saturday, March 1, 2008. This exciting uphill event climbs 1800 feet vertical gain up Buttermilk Mountain and it will begin at 7am. This year, the race is dedicated to the memory of Chris Bove, a well-loved friend, ski instructor and strong supporter of Challenge Aspen. 100% of the proceeds of the event go directly to both charities.

Race and walk pre-registration fee is $35.00 ($40.00 on Race Day) and all participants will receive schwag bags and other surprises. Race participants may use snowshoes, telemark skis, skinny skis or heavy metal (stabilizers are for non-race class). Registration begins at Buttermilk Mountain on SATURDAY, MARCH 1, at 7:00am, and the race begins at 7:30am. Pre-registration at UTE Mountaineer begins early February. Post race giveaways and celebrations will take place at The Cliffhouse.

“One From The Heart” has raised over $49,000.00 over the last 11 years, thanks to the support of enthusiastic participants, volunteers, the Aspen Skiing Company, Orthopaedic Associates of Aspen & Glenwood, Mezzaluna, Redfeather Snowshoes and Ralph Lauren Polo.
